During 2008 – 2009 on the initiative or directly with the participation of NAER approximately 50 regulatory legal acts in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy were approved, the work on 30 drafts of regulatory legal acts in this field is going on.

Legislation in the sphere of energy efficiency forecasts transition from normalization of specific fuel and energy resources use system to the system of energy standards.

During 2009-2015, NAER plans provide such transition and design more than 600 national standards on calculation of energy intensity for technological production processes.
